Really dirty heatsink. This laptop was getting too hot to be able to touch for more that a second or two. The fan also sounded like it was taking off, and you can see why…so much dust meant the fan had to work super hard. When this was removed and the heat sink polished for a bit of added dust resistance, the laptop was repaired and good as new.
